What is Ubuntu?, and why is it on my computer?
The Federal Recycler has chosen to use the Ubuntu Operating System as a replacement for computers that do not have a Window's XP Professional COA (See Graphic A).
Is is Open Source Software, and as such is free to use and modify. It has everything that the average computer user could require. (Here are some comparisons for software).
Once you have Ubuntu on a computer, you will never have to pay for updates, you will always have access to the latest and greatest software, and you will no longer need to worry about virus or spyware infecting your computer.
Ubuntu affords you access to a library of tens-of-thousands of programs. Don't like your web browser anymore? Try one of 40 or 50 that might suit your fancy.

The Federal Recycler sponsors “The Papillon Effect”
We have donated hundreds of our wooded shipping crates to Public Art Workz for use in this amazing art project.
Chazz Miller (founder of Public Art Workz) is an amazing individual with outstanding creativity. He plans to have over 1000 of the 4ft wide cutouts adorning Detroit neighborhoods before summer's end.
Butterflies stretch out from the Artist Village Detroit into parks, businesses, and vacant buildings for miles.
